Who We Are
Our Story
East West Karate & Fitness wasn't built overnight. It was built one student at a time, over three decades, by people who genuinely believe martial arts changes lives.
Our Founder & Chief Instructor
Shihan Mike Vacca
Shihan Mike Vacca holds a 6th Degree Black Belt and has spent more than 30 years immersed in martial arts - not just training, but teaching, studying, and building a community around something he deeply believes in.
He started East West Karate with a straightforward idea: martial arts shouldn't be a luxury or a niche thing. It should be accessible to every kid, every adult, every family in the area - regardless of age, fitness level, or athletic background.
That belief is what drove him to open not one dojo, but six. Trevose, Warminster, Richboro, Jamison, Doylestown, and Lansdale - each location is a reflection of that original vision.
What you'll notice when you walk in is that the culture is consistent across all six locations. That's intentional. Shihan Mike doesn't outsource his standards.

What We Believe
The Six Tenets of East West Karate
These aren't words on a wall. They're standards we actually hold our students and instructors to - starting on day one.
Modesty
Martial arts teaches you how much you still have to learn. The best students stay humble no matter what rank they hold.
Courtesy
Respect is non-negotiable in the dojo - toward your instructors, your training partners, and yourself.
Integrity
Do the right thing even when no one is watching. That's the standard we hold ourselves to, and we train our students to do the same.
Self Control
Power without control is dangerous. We teach students how to manage their emotions and their bodies under pressure.
Perseverance
Progress is never a straight line. Learning to push through hard days is one of the most valuable things you can take out of the dojo.
Indomitable Spirit
The will to keep going when things get hard. This is the quality that separates people who train from people who transform.
Our Curriculum
The Styles We Train
We don't limit ourselves to one style because real martial arts - and real life - require more than one set of tools.
Kenpo Karate
A dynamic striking art with roots in Chinese and Japanese martial arts. Kenpo emphasizes quick combinations, practical self-defense, and adaptability.
Muay-Thai
The "art of eight limbs" - punches, kicks, elbows, and knees. Muay-Thai builds incredible fitness and striking power.
Krav Maga
Developed for real-world situations, Krav Maga is practical, direct, and effective. It's what you'd want to know if things went sideways.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Ground fighting built on leverage, not strength. BJJ teaches you how to control a larger opponent and stay safe in the worst-case scenario.
Why This Place Matters
The best martial arts schools don't just teach kicks and punches. They build people. Students who are calmer under pressure, more focused in school, more confident in everything they do.
That's what we've been doing here for over 30 years. And we're not slowing down.
