Gracie
Jiu-Jitsu
The most effective ground-fighting system ever developed. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu teaches you to control and submit opponents using leverage - not strength. Whether you're brand new or chasing your next belt, this program meets you where you are.
What Makes BJJ Different
Technique. Leverage. Control.
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was built around one idea: a smaller, weaker person should be able to defend against and control a larger, stronger one. Here's how.
Leverage Over Strength
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was designed so a smaller person can control and submit a larger one. Technique, not muscle, is what wins on the mat.
Ground Control
Most real confrontations end up on the ground. BJJ gives you the tools to be dangerous there - and to keep yourself safe.
Live Training
Rolling (controlled sparring) is built into BJJ from early on. You're not just drilling techniques - you're testing them against a resisting partner.
Problem Solving
Every roll is a puzzle. You're constantly reading your partner, making adjustments, and finding openings. It sharpens your mind as much as your body.
Self-Defense Foundation
The Gracie curriculum includes practical self-defense scenarios - what to do when grabbed, tackled, mounted. It's realistic and applicable.
Progress for Life
BJJ is one of the few martial arts you can train seriously into your 50s and beyond. The technique-first approach keeps training sustainable long-term.
From First Class to Competitor
A Complete Path
Whether you've never stepped on a mat or you're preparing for your next tournament, our Gracie Jiu-Jitsu program has a class for you. We structured the curriculum so beginners can walk in with zero experience and find their footing immediately.
As you advance, you'll move into more technical and competitive training. Rolling sessions give you the chance to test your skills in real time - which is what separates BJJ from martial arts where techniques only ever get drilled, never tested.
Founded by Shihan Mike Vacca, 6th Degree Black Belt, our program carries more than 30 years of teaching experience. You're not getting a watered-down version of the art here.

Common Questions
What New Students Ask
Is Gracie Jiu-Jitsu the same as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the original system developed by the Gracie family, with a strong emphasis on self-defense. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) evolved from it, often with more focus on sport competition. Our program incorporates both the self-defense foundation and sport techniques.
Who is this program for?
All ages and all fitness levels. We have kids as young as 8 training alongside adults. Complete beginners are welcome - the program is structured to bring you up from zero.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
No. Training is how you get in shape. You'll be tired after your first few classes. That goes away fast as your body adapts.
How long does it take to get a blue belt?
It varies by the student, but typically 1–3 years of consistent training. BJJ belts are earned, not given. When you get one, you'll know you actually deserve it.
